All utility no fluff

A little about me

I have been painting miniatures now for over ten years. Originally I started painting a few miniatures to be used in pen and paper role-playing games to help assist in the dynamics of playing the game. It did not take long however for me to become interested in table top battle games in which large amounts of models are used. In fact soon I had invested large amounts of time and money in the hobby.

I learned quickly that I enjoyed the designing, converting, and painting of miniatures as much if not more than that actual playing of the table top games. I suppose this love comes from my artistic background of sketching, painting, and sculpting, not to mention the simple fact that a lot of time and money goes into each model and as such I want to preserve that time and money with care and effort. I strive to learn new and advanced ways of painting each time I take on a project and have spent numerous hours reading and researching techniques and methods of painting and conversion. Of course I have spent many times more just practicing and trying new approaches to accomplish different effects, and achieve the outcome I have envisioned.

I really enjoy the variety of each new miniature project and as such often jump at the new challenge of painting something I have never tried before. Several years ago I dusted off my dice and actually began using the armies of models that I had painted and soon found a whole new area in which to utilize my creativity. That new area was terrain. Just like my beginnings in models I found that I enjoyed the variety, but terrain also allows for the pure creativity of building something from scratch. As such I have now also begun creating and painting terrain with the same care and effort that I do models.

Though I have only started to think about entering some of my projects in competition I have received many compliments on my work. I often take on painting projects for people that I know in the hobby; just to be able to paint something I have never tried before. This desire to tackle new projects has also led me to purchase units of models and create pieces of terrain that I do not expect to use, but rather just desire to paint or build. I then put these item up for auction in order to, to put it bluntly, feed my habit.

I hope you enjoy the work I have done and the images on these pages. I am happy to respond to any comments or advice you may have. Just please keep in mind that many people share the love of the miniature and modeling hobby both young and old, for many different reasons, and at many different skill levels.
